There has been an increase in the crime rate in the Czech Republic in the last few years, and public confidence in the police force has been dwindling – pickpockets and car crime are two of the biggest worries in the major tourist areas, though these factors can usually be avoided with a little common sense – storing valuables in a safe, for example. Other than this, there are no major safety concerns in the country. It is recommended that vaccination is taken out against Tick-borne encephalitis if visiting forested areas.
